Helsinki's winter will once again get light and art when Lux Helsinki lights up the city on Epiphany, weekdays and weekends from 6 to 11 January from 5 pm to 10 pm. The festival, which has expanded to six days, will bring more than 20 light art works to the centre of Helsinki and its surrounding areas free of charge and open to all. This year's Stop time! theme invites you to stop and enjoy the moment in the middle of the city.
Kamppi Helsinki will be part of the event when Sophie Laly's magnificent video work will be built on Kamppi Helsinki's large The Wall screen on the Narinkkatori side in January. APPARITION #2 is the second of five video works based on the FADING installation, which depict the appearance of houses hidden in the corners of private gardens. The dawn reveals the subtle transformation of the landscape: the night brightens, the day dawns, the house disappears and the surroundings are revealed. Discreetly festive music accompanies the work – as if there were a party going on around the house. APPARITION is a stop on the route of our naps.
Come and experience how art and light transform everyday life into an experience. More information about the festival, the works and the artists can be found luxhelsinki.fi.
