Kamppi Helsinki bears its responsibility – for the environment, people and good governance. For us, responsibility is not just about individual actions, but a holistic part of everyday life and decision-making. We want to be involved in building a more sustainable future together with our customers, tenants and partners.

Below you will find more detailed information on how we take into account the different areas of responsibility: environmental, social and governance.

Recycling as part of everyday life

Kamppi Helsinki promotes the circular economy and responsible waste management. The shopping centre has recycling points for customers and its own recycling systems for tenants, which enable efficient waste sorting. Located on the P-level of the shopping centre, customers can recycle old clothes and accessories as well as down products, among other things. At the popular book exchange point in front of Kampin Suutari, many used books get a new owner every day.

Emission-free energy targets and reducing energy consumption

We use 100% emission-free energy and continuously improve our energy efficiency. The most important actions we do are energy-efficient equipment replacements, heat recovery and smart optimization systems. For example, waste heat from restaurants is used to heat the rest of the building.

We care about the employees of Kamppi Helsinki

Kamppi Helsinki values its employees and invests in well-being and a sense of community. We offer the staff a comfortable break room, a bicycle storage and joint activities. Every year, we organise staff parties, competitions and events that strengthen team spirit. It is important to us that Kamppi Helsinki is not only a workplace – but also a community where people enjoy themselves and feel good.

Community events and charity

For customers, responsibility is concretely visible in charity collaborations and community events. Every year, we are involved in supporting various charities related to different themes, such as Mieli Mental Health Finland and Finnish Animal Welfare. In addition, we organise events that promote urban culture and responsibility and bring joy and meaning to the everyday lives of city residents. In the decorations of events, we often use used and recycled materials, and we compensate for our carbon footprint.

We employ a large number of employees

Kamppi Helsinki is one of Finland's busiest shopping centres, and its operations provide jobs for hundreds of professionals in various fields. The shopping centre has a wide range of shops, restaurants and service providers that offer a variety of job opportunities. The shopping centre acts as an important employer and enables diverse career paths for young and experienced experts.

We operate in accordance with responsible principles

We are committed to acting responsibly in all areas. For us, sustainability means environmentally friendly solutions, ethical business and supporting the well-being of the community. In the everyday life of the shopping centre, this can be seen, for example, in energy efficiency, waste recycling, accessibility and safety.
